GDPR Advice for Churches

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into force in the UK on the 25th May 2018 and will affect how organisations including churches use and store personal data.

The GDPR gives individuals more rights on how an organisation may use their data and every organisation in the EU has to comply with these regulations.

As the UK’s leading Church software company, we have been planning for GDPR for a while now and we hope that this section can help all churches make sure they are handling personal data correctly. We’ve also employed the services of GDPR consultants who have advised us on the new regulation in relation to church data and our iKnow Church software.

This regulation is a new legal framework from the European Union and won’t be affected by the UK leaving the EU.
These changes affect all organisations no matter how they store data about people.

Please note that these articles are meant for guidance for churches based on our interpretation of the regulation.  You should seek your own legal guidance to ensure total compliance with the GDPR.
