October 2015 Updates

First published on: 20th October 2015

rrThe latest updates for iKnow Church include the brand new Child Check-in feature that we have been developing over the last 6 months.

The Child Check-in module makes it quicker for parents and guardians to drop off their children whilst making it extremely safe to check them out at the end of the service.

By giving every child a wristband each child is checked into Sunday School where authorised leaders can then have instant access to any relevant information about the child such as medical or child permissions.

At the end of the Sunday School a simple scan of the barcode will show the picture of the person who is allowed to take the child out of the Sunday School. The photo of both the adult and the child is shown on a screen for the children's supervisor to verify.

Parents / Guardians can complete the information within iKnow that the church requires for each child such as allergies, permissions and other information. All of this information can be customised by the church.  To see the check-in in action visit the tutorials section (more tutorials are available once you have logged in to iKnow and clicked on help).

This has been developed in consultation with CCPAS who have said:

"CCPAS are impressed with the iKnow Child Check-in technology for Sunday Schools and children’s activities. It is vital that churches have safe arrangements for the booking in and collection of children in all their activities and this application is helpful for just that. It is important having ready access to relevant information about a child, and this system provides for this."

Other updates

Previously photos for profiles were added to iKnow automatically from someones Twitter or Facebook profile picture. We've now updated iKnow to allow people to add their own photo to their profile - this can be done within the Me area of iKnow.

Additionally those who have access to the People App can now add photos to other peoples profiles. Why not have a photo Sunday where you have a few computers setup after the church service to take photos and upload them straight onto iKnow?
